D.C. Fontana on “Friday’s Child”

by trekkiefeminist

“Friday’s Child” was basically an adventure, but I felt the story in which a woman and her unborn baby were the most interesting pawns in the game was an interesting one. Eleen eventually realized that she had the power to make decisions for herself. It was sort of a women’s lib story, although I didn’t mean it that way. I just meant it as a character development in the sense of someone who has discovered herself.

D.C. Fontana in the May 1987 issue of Starlog.
